Can students learn machine learning without coding?

Yes. This course uses Orange, a free visual tool where you build machine learning workflows by connecting blocks instead of writing code. Students and teachers learn supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, regression, and clustering, then apply them to problems such as predicting customer churn or sorting text documents. It suits schools that want to teach how AI makes predictions before, or instead of, teaching programming. It runs over 1 to 2 days and starts with 5 sign-ups.

Course Overview

No-Code Machine Learning is a one- or two-day course on how machine learning works, taught without programming. You'll use Orange, a free visual tool, to prepare data, then build, train, and evaluate models by connecting blocks on screen, all the way from raw data to predictions.

Lesson Outcomes

  • Master the fundamentals of machine learning: Understand core concepts such as supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, regression, and clustering.

  • Gain proficiency in using Orange: Learn how to navigate the Orange interface, import and clean data, build and train machine learning models, and evaluate their performance.

  • Apply machine learning to real-world problems: Use Orange to solve practical problems, such as predicting customer churn, identifying fraudulent transactions, or categorising text documents.

Requirements: Bring your own laptop! Modern Windows or Mac laptops are supported. (iPads and Chromebooks are supported, though not for all applications.)
