Course Overview
Knowledge-work teams spend hours on the same loops: reviewing submissions, pulling figures, drafting documents, updating trackers, and preparing briefings. Automating a poor process only makes its problems run faster. This workshop starts with business process re-engineering, then introduces agents where they can genuinely reduce handoffs, waiting time, and repetitive work.
Participants first work with the same realistic, deliberately messy simulated organisation: a shared mailbox, document store, submissions database, and survey data. Together, they map and redesign its processes before building governed agentic workflows. In the full three-day format, participants then apply the same method to a real workflow of their own and ship a working capstone.
Lesson Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Map an as-is process, identify handoffs, waits, and failure points, and design a simpler to-be process before automating it.
- Decide what an agent may do autonomously, where a person must review its work, and who owns the workflow.
- Choose an appropriate enterprise AI environment for a task based on its strengths, connectors, and data-classification rules.
- Build reusable agent skills for common knowledge-work tasks, document them clearly, and adapt them across platforms.
- Turn a real workflow into a working capstone with before-and-after maps, a governance block, and an estimate of time saved.
Course Outline
Day 1: Redesign first, automate second
- Map and redesign a realistic business process before introducing an agent.
- Explore autonomy, human checkpoints, ownership, and governance.
- Turn survey data into summaries, charts, and a simple dashboard.
Day 2: Build a reusable agent toolkit
- Compare enterprise AI environments, connectors, and data-classification rules.
- Write, document, and publish portable skills for everyday knowledge work.
- Build governed agents for briefings, document formatting, critique, and recurring updates.
Day 3: Ship a real workflow
- Build and present one real workflow as an individual or team capstone.
- Produce a workflow card and publish one or more reusable skills.
- Test the workflow’s controls and leave with a 30-day follow-through plan.

Requirements: Bring your own laptop. Modern Windows, Mac, or Linux laptops are supported. Access to the selected enterprise AI environments and required connectors will be confirmed before the workshop.
